We are pleased to announce the election of a new member to our Board of Directors and the approval of two new shareholders.

Nate Strout, PE, Senior Geotechnical Engineer, has been elected to the Board of Directors. Nate joined S. W. Cole Engineering, Inc. (S.W.COLE) in 2008 as a Construction Services Technician. He was hired as an Engineering Assistant in 2010 and promoted to Geotechnical Engineer in 2011. He earned his Professional Engineer license in Maine in 2015. In 2019, Nate assumed the role of Bangor Office Manager and served as acting Construction Services Manager during 2019. He was promoted in 2021 to Senior Geotechnical Engineer.

Nate earned an Associate of Science degree in Architectural and Civil Engineering from Central Maine Community College and a Bachelor of Science in Civil and Environmental Engineering from the University of Maine. He is a graduate of the Fundamentals of Professional Practice Course through the Geoprofessional Business Association and has served as President of the Maine Chapter of American Society of Civil Engineers (ASCE).

S.W.COLE’s shareholders also approved the selection of two new shareholders:

 Mike Glynn is the Director of Drilling Field Operations based in the Springfield, Massachusetts office of Seaboard Drilling, LLC. Mike began his career with Seaboard Drilling, Inc. in 1999 as a Drilling Assistant and was promoted to Driller in 2003. Following the 2023 merger of S.W. COLE Explorations with Seaboard Drilling, Inc., Mike was promoted to Drilling Operations Manager and has since assumed the role of Director of Drilling Field Operations. In this role, he manages projects, drill schedules, and personnel across Massachusetts, New Hampshire, and Rhode Island.

Sarah Sylvia is the Assistant Construction Services Manager in Gray, Maine. She joined S.W.COLE in August 2017 as an Administrative Assistant and was later promoted to Construction Services Coordinator before advancing to her current role. During her time at S.W.COLE, Sarah has earned multiple industry certifications from organizations including ACI and NETTCP. She graduated from the Stephen W. Cole Emerging Leaders program in 2021.
