S.W.COLE Sells GeoEnvironmental Division to Haley Ward
BANGOR, MAINE- Haley Ward, Inc., formerly CES, Inc., and S.W. Cole Engineering, Inc. are pleased to announce the purchase and sale of S.W.COLE’s GeoEnvironmental division to Haley Ward.
“We are excited to welcome the S.W.COLE GeoEnvironmental employees and clients to Haley Ward,” said Haley Ward President & CEO Denis St. Peter, PE. “We enjoyed collaborating with Bob Chaput and the team at S.W.COLE to develop and implement an approach that helps to reach our strategic goals, expands opportunities for our employees and enhances our abilities to provide quality service to clients in our areas of expertise.”
S.W.COLE President and CEO, Bob Chaput, Jr., PE noted, “The sale of our smallest business unit, while bittersweet, provides more opportunities for those Maine -based geoenvironmental employees given the wider array of environmental services offered by Haley Ward. It also allows us to focus on our growing business lines more fully.”
The GeoEnvironmental Division will work from Haley Ward’s Bangor and Saco offices.
Haley Ward Environmental Division Director and Executive Vice President, John Pond said, “The knowledge and experience of the professionals provide depth to our growing environmental division while at the same time adding expertise in additional technical service offerings. We are very excited to welcome them to the Haley Ward team.”
The employees are expected to continue their work on Phase I/II Environmental Site Assessments, VRAP, hazardous materials, and groundwater monitoring projects, as well use their respective experience to enhance the environmental services Haley Ward offers.
“While we will miss our S.W.COLE colleagues, we are eager to bring our extensive knowledge and experience to the Haley Ward team and to work with our new colleagues to provide additional value to our clients,” said Jacalyn Gorczynski, PG. She joins as Senior Project Geologist/Project Manager.
This is not the first time the companies have worked together on a sale of a division.
In 2013, S.W.COLE acquired the Construction Materials Testing division of Haley Ward, (then CES, Inc.). CES had acquired the division through an earlier acquisition. The confidence that each company had in each other to provide quality service their clients expect extends through to today.
Chaput added that “S.W.COLE is expanding services to clients at all seven locations in our core business units – geotechnical engineering, construction materials testing and inspection, and subsurface exploration.” He noted “We recently added an Operations Manager and a new drill crew for our growing drilling subsidiary, S.W.COLE Explorations, and expanded their engineering practice in Rhode Island and Massachusetts. “
