In Memory of Wendy Cole
Wendy M. Cole, wife of Stephen W. Cole and co-founder of S.W. Cole Engineering (S.W.COLE), passed away on Saturday February, 15th, 2020. Always a vibrant, vivacious and caring personality, Wendy made S.W.COLE a welcoming, family-oriented workplace from day one in 1979. Wendy helped with office work and laboratory testing while supporting Steve during the fledgling years of the firm. Many employees have fond memories of Wendy making the rounds of the Bangor office, inquiring how each of our families were doing with special interest in our youngest family members, and a significant number of baby quilts found their way to the office. Wendy and Steve hosted summer picnics, Christmas parties and other meetings at their home in the early years of the firm. As the company grew, Wendy reminded us of the hard work and sacrifices she and Steve made as a growing family to establish and build the firm. These values she instilled in us make us ever mindful of the importance of our employees and their families. As Steve continued his professional development with her constant support, he became involved in the leadership and eventually President of a national engineering organization, ASFE (now GBA). Wendy accompanied Steve on many nation-wide trips and quickly made many friends amongst our professional peers. Her presence will be deeply missed by all those who knew her, and her contributions to our firm will always be remembered.
