Open House Planned for Our Somersworth, NH Office
S. W. Cole Engineering, Inc. (S.W.COLE) will hold an Open House with demonstrations for potential new Team members on Thursday April 28, 2022, from 2 PM to 6 PM at 10 Centre Road in Somersworth, New Hampshire. Light refreshments will be available.
Jason Hall, Construction Services Manager at the Somersworth office, noted “We want to provide people who are curious about these positions and our company an opportunity to see hands-on demonstrations of what the job will be and to be able to talk with our current team members. You just cannot do that through a typical interview.” The company will be offering demonstrations of different tests the company performs in laboratory and field settings. Hall also noted that the company provides paid training to prepare each team member as they gain certifications in the field.
Tyler Demers, Office Manager of the Somersworth branch added “Our team will be here to answer questions and we will also conduct in-person interviews and review our benefits, career progression, and give tours of our facility.” When asked why someone might want to consider a position at S.W.COLE, Demers said “The Somersworth team is a hard-working group who like a fun atmosphere, like to work outside, and enjoy the variety that this position provides. Our team members are cross trained to work in the field and the laboratory and on a multitude of tests for different construction materials.” Once trained, the firm’s Construction Services Technicians can be found conducting QA and QC testing on a wide variety of construction projects throughout New Hampshire, southwestern Maine, and northeastern Massachusetts.
The target audience for the open house includes high school seniors looking for their first full time position, anyone looking for a career change, and soon to be graduates of 2- and 4-year colleges. The minimum requirement is a high school diploma, and the position does require basic writing and math skills. The company benefits include competitive PTO, paid holidays, paid training, a company clothing program, safety boot allowance, insurance (medical dental, vision, life, and disability insurances), 401k, profit sharing, financial wellness, identity theft protection, a vehicle lease program and/or paid reimbursement for employee travel, and more. Hall noted that despite being in the construction and engineering industry, the team does have flexibility with work/life balance.
